This stacking table design was originally made as a gift to my daughter-in-law on her graduation from college. They remain in use and are very solid tables. The joinery on these tables is perhaps overdone by current standards, however, they are very well constructed using methods employed by 18th century craftsmen!
The design on the legs is hand carved. The feet are French style feet.
The stacking tables look good in a stacked pattern, but look quite different when taken apart due to the changing proportions of the tables. This is interesting and was a challenge to design. The unit of three needed to be balanced and at the same time the individual pieces needed to look good by themselves.
