This bench was built as an improvement to my first work bench. It is used when doing close work, such as inlay, etc. The “bench-on-bench” concept allows me to work standing up, which I find to be a comfortable position. The bench sports a fully functional Jorgensen quick release vice on one end for clamping materials for working at close tolerances such as pieces being inlaid.

The bench also will double as a child’s bench if you have a young woodworker in your family. My grandson loves to have his bench set up when he visits and is adept at using hand planes, hand drills, spoke shaves, etc.—at 5 years old, a good woodworker already!
